eye gore warning, violence warning, death warning

The SD card downloads two files to his tablet. The first, in text, is as follows:

With the overload of the NIMA system, we're down to iodine. A lot of people are dying, which is a failure on our part, but the number of new admittants is finally starting to slow down. It seems as if the systems are beginning to come back online, as well. What's more concerning is the bizarre behavior some patients are exhibiting. I'm not sure what's causing it, but it's nkjmmmmmmmmmmmmm

The second, a video, plays as follows:

[A woman--Jia, certainly--is typing rapidly into a tablet. It's too quiet for there to be any sound in this video, but it doesn't seem as if you're missing much; all Jia is doing is writing what appears to be some sort of log or journal entry during a stolen moment in a small room in labor and delivery. She's very focused, as she often is, so she doesn't even blink as a patient, pressed flat against the wall, slides over to her with jerky, stretched out motions. He's a large man, very muscular in spite of being in a hospital--so there's not much Jia can do when the man tackles her to the ground. Her tablet goes flying across the room and she collides with the floor. She's screaming, surely, and soon it turns into clawing and kicking as the man's hands wrap around her neck. She kicks him over and over in the stomach, the crotch--eventually, she jabs her thumbs into the man's eyes and gouges them out entirely. But, implacable and unfeeling, expression never changing, he continues with his work until Jia falls still.

The man tosses her onto the bed. He leaves the room. Then he begins to stack bricks in front of the wall. The video ends.]

Somewhere, a house grows still and cold, as if finally abandoned.

That's all there is, there isn't any more.

Would Quark like to add these files to the public record?
