Search Requests

While traveling through Norfinbury, you and your characters may want to search for more plot-relevant items. There are also squares on the map that no one has traveled to, and remain a mystery until explicitly uncovered. Thus, the search page has been created for this use. This page is not for reporting standard movements; if you need to do that, follow the directions on the character movements page. You can also find the square allowances on that page: remember, a quick search takes one square of movement, while a thorough search takes two! In order to have your character search an area, first find the comment of the location your character will be searching. There are general area comments at the beginning for uncovering new squares, searching outside of buildings, and talking to @ADMIN or other things not tied to a specific building. If your character is trying to speak to @ADMIN, simply use the header for the area your character is currently in. After those are building comments for searching inside of buildings. We will reply back within two days informing you what your characters found. Search requests will always receive some sort of reply, even if it's just "there isn't anything interesting here". We will also do our best to hint if there's something more your character can do, if this place has already been thoroughly searched, or if there's just nothing there at all. In order to submit a search request, please put the IC day you're doing your search in the subject line and fill out the following form: <b><u>Search Request</u></b> <b>Area Searched:</b> SQUARE - BUILDING - QUICKLY/THOROUGHLY <b>Anything Else?</b> This is where you describe how your character is searching, as well as if they're specifically looking for something/specifically doing something unusual. The more detailed this is, the easier it is for us to give you accurate results. MAKE SURE TO NOTE ANYONE TRAVELING WITH YOU.

Miller just contacted us, in a way. We heard a ringing in our ears and then his voice. Then we all passed out. We screamed our throats raw somehow in all of this, still unconscious.

I remember him speaking to me, and so do others. He spoke of copies, of ghosts being copies frozen in time. If you're interested in keeping him from harming us, please use this if you can. I think he may have tried to copy us, or succeeded in copying us. Do we now have duplicates, those of us with injured throats? It may help you find him.

And what can we do? He's been hurting us for a long time now, I think. I want to help.

Anyone with the abilities and confidence to defend themselves will be approaching the remaining anomalies to inform them of the situation: that they'll be left alone in Norfinbury, which is in the progress of being deactivated. Any if these anomalies that present a danger to themselves or others will be killed along with any that wish to die or that their counterparts wish dead.

With this done, everyone prepares for the final task that'll end the Admin's cycle. Using the Cult's computer, a team of technologically-inclined individuals, led by Aigis, will set up a timer to destroy the Admin once and for all, and finally.

In the time remaining, House and Stephen will be ridding everyone of their nanomachines, and activating the portal, everyone will be heading to former and new homes. Norfinbury will be left behind by all, forever, to remain only in their nightmares.

Anything Else? The Joker repeats the Spider Experiment.

He puts on his widebrimmed hat, sunglasses, wraps his torn dress coat around his mouth and pries loose a vent.

-He fills the surgical hose with pebble-sized rubble he collected from outside and packs it down as much as he can. He tries to fill about four feet and squeezes the pebbles along. This probably takes a while.
-Once he has a length of hose filled with rubble he tapes his tablet (off) to the end.
-From his pack he withdraws an empty milk bottle
-From his pack he withdraws the herbal shampoo he stole from Fiona and squirts the inside of the vent with it to make it slippery.
-He smears the back of the tablet with glue (both bottled and from a glue stick)
-And he lowers the tablet into the vent, past the shampoo, and he waits. If he feels a jerk he will rapidly start hauling on the hose.

....I am so sorry he keeps trying this.

Anything Else? Davesprite's with Karkat and the Cat. They're going to try to open the hatch here! Davesprite has two good arms, and though one of Karkat's is busted, the other is still good, so they've got good lifting power between them. If the hatch doesn't want to open the regular way or is stuck or the like, Davesprite has a fruit knife and Karkat has a letter opener they'll try to use to pry the edge. Davesprite's also got a fork and a wooden spoon and Karkat has a spork if they would be any help for levering during the process. If all else fails, the Cat has teeth and claws?? (Though he would stop short of anything self-injurious.) They are trying all they can. Davesprite will even try verbal passcodes like "open sesame", "abraca-open", and "come the fuck on you metal piece of shit" if he must.

She'll be in the building for several days, and unless its behavior changes in some way, she'll do her best to play with it: sometimes she'll careen around giggling, hiding and expecting it to come looking for her. Other times, she'll whip around and look for it, wanting to do the chasing.
