Player Plots

This page is for player plots that are run on a large-enough scale to require some sort of sign up, would be difficult for those not involved to ignore, or would effect the setting in some manner that would require a mod response. This includes publicized murders, whether they happen on-camera over the network or are widely reported later, because these tend to incite very widespread responses. A murder that is not intended to be publicized but is witnessed by a character who intends to announce it counts for this as well--the character who wishes to announce it must submit a player plot. These require approval by the moderators so we can make sure everything you want to do is possible and schedule them in on the calendar appropriately. Please submit your player plots at least two weeks in advance of when you would like to run them. In the event of a public murder situation happening suddenly, please submit them as soon as possible. <b>Summary:</b> A summary of the plot you would like to run. Include all the details necessary to make it clear to us how things will proceed. <b>Characters Involved</b> List all characters who will be involved and note if there will be an option for additional characters to sign up/participate. <b>Date/Length:</b> Give us at least a vague date and a more concrete length of time the plot will take place. We need to know this so we can make sure everything is scheduled appropriately. Please make sure you will be around to run the plot, as the moderators will not be taking it over for you if you can't finish it.

Summary: Hey so remember that one time Rhys and Angel hacked into the network server and got kicked out ASAP? Remember how Admin-chan told them not to do it again? THEY'RE GOING TO DO IT AGAIN

OKAY SO. Angel has been doing her thing and organising a bunch of people to create distractions to (hopefully) keep the admin's attention away from what she and Rhys are doing. On [whatever night is most suitable for everyone oocly hohoho] just before lockdown she's going to send a message to everyone involved simply saying go. At this point, the distractions will start: some people will request medical assistance, some will break open their tablets in doorways, and it's very likely that there'll be at least one explosion. Property damage, ho! After a few seconds' delay, Rhys will once more plug himself into the tablet via the jury-rigged SD card/ID drive in an effort to hack back into the server.

Once he and Holojack are in, they're going to be subtle. Ish. The idea is for them to get in and out without the admin knowing they were there at all, if possible. Which means their focus isn't going to be on causing havoc or altering giant swathes of code: they'll attempt to download (or at least read) any files that relate to NIMA, MN poisoning, anomalies or the admin itself. In regards to the admin, they'll particularly be looking for ways to ~help~ her - a location, the identity of who/whatever apparently doesn't give her permission to answer certain messages, any programming that might be keeping her from acting as she wishes... that sort of thing.


Characters Involved: Rhys/Holojack will be doing the hacking with Angel on standby to pull the plug if anything goes wrong. Several characters will be helping with distractions - we'll put up an ooc post for people to say if they're involved in that and how, should this get approved!


Date/Length: Sometime next month maybe would be great? As long as there's IC notice and Angel And Rhys are in the same place pretty much any time is fine so whatever would work best for you guys. As far as length goes, it'll only take place over one ooc day.

Summary: Joker, embarrassed over his own defeat, lets people know something rather unfortunate: He's rigged the tunnels and areas along the walls with explosives he's been secretly accumulating since his arrival. People have 2-3 IC days to find the bombs before he uses the trigger in his tablet and causes a massive cave in.

The only thing is there are no bombs, he just wants to giggle as everyone panics, groups divide up and maybe people die of exposure looking for them... And if he ever DOES manage to make a big bomb later hey maybe after this people will think he's lying and do nothing that would be hilarious.

Characters Involved Joker + whoever participates
Date/Length: 2-3 IC days probably later next month (May)? It could really be any time since the only necessary ingredients to start it off are the Joker and his tablet.

Summary: The Joker, possibly riled up by the Dream event, kills Clayton, his current traveling companion. He won't be announcing the death but the fact that the two of them are together is known by people and, being the Joker, he won't deny doing it.

Characters Involved The Joker, Clayton and anyone else getting involved.

Date/Length: Probably around the beginning of his bomb plot. Timing wise, this would be further IC incentive for him to put that plot into motion.

This will be Clayton's dropping death.

Summary: Bucky, gone Soldier due to the dream event and conversations with Steve, is trying to get after him. Tifa and Cloud will be trying to stop him and Bucky will end up killing them. He won't be making the death public himself, but it's possible it will get out anyway.

Characters Involved Bucky Barnes, Tifa Lockhart, Cloud Strife

Date/Length: It would be on IC day 119, and just be that day for the deaths.

Summary: After Wilson and House escape him, the Joker goes south again and runs into John Watson. He buries Watson in the snow and tells the network to go find him.

Natasha and Tony intercept him and he escapes only to die in the snow before lockdown.

Characters Involved Natasha Romanov, Tony Stark, the Joker, John Watson and whoever goes to find Watson.

Date/Length: Around day 143. It is intended that Watson survives the encounter.

Characters Involved Fiona, The Joker, and probably a bunch of others to varying degrees.
Date/Length: Day 160/Immediate. The Joker finds Fiona at the Pharmacy. To send a message to Watson and Angel, and to get Batman's attention, he kills her. He will publicly acknowledge the killing and may or may not provide a recording if anyone ICly asks him for one, but he won't accept blame until her name appears in the obituary.

This will be Fiona's dropping death.

This is approved since it would be almost impossible to change the timing, but we'd like to request that the majority of the IC response take place after the event. We will be skipping the day 162 obituary and putting Fiona on the day 164 obituary to help everyone involved make this more IC.

Summary: Kesara, Frisk - and should they decide to join in - the other kids are going to be going around and trying various methods of getting the different adults in Norfinbury to get along. This includes diplomacy, coercion, and most importantly for this request, blackmail. Frisk in particular is going to be using their Network+ app to attempt to hack as many filtered posts and threads as possible to get the information needed. They'll then keep this information in reserve to try to discourage current and future conflicts. It will probably end badly.

We'll be including sign-ups for Frisk's hacking and what people are okay or not okay with them seeing. Since Frisk is still somewhat an amateur at using Network+, it will be easy to just say their hacking attempt failed if anybody doesn't want us to see anything in particular. We'll also leave a section with things the kids can pick up on with enough careful observation.
Characters Involved: Kesara, Frisk, and any of the other kids who want to be involved spearheading, but the entire game can volunteer to have their characters spied on. Or not.
Date/Length: The info-gathering stage would start immediately. As for the end... this is the sticky part. We don't have a projected end for this, as it depends entirely on Kesara and company using the information they've gathered in reaction to other character conflicts, or else someone discovering what they're up to. So if it's okay with you, we'd like to submit a sort of follow up with the end date, following the same rules (at least two weeks in advance for a pre-plotted ending, as soon as possible if the end comes about spontaneously).

This is approved, just do try to make sure any end-date avoids mod events! Since the information-gathering portion isn't really over a specific time period we won't put that on the calendar, but when you have an end date, we will put that on the calendar.

Summary: Vanitas and Lutha will be getting into a long overdue fight on Evening 198 and Vanitas will be killing Lutha in the process. This won't be publicized and Lutha will not be treating it like a murder (mostly out of shame that he even got himself killed in the first place), but I'm submitting this as a player plot because I'm sure he'll get lots of questions and people not necessarily agreeing with him, plus it will be putting Vanitas on several people's watch lists.

Characters Involved Lutha, Vanitas, and whoever Lutha bothers telling details of this to.

Date/Length: IC evening 200 (when Lutha revives). I'm more than willing to ICly not have Lutha even talk about it in detail for a while, if that works out better for the mods.

Summary: The Joker, Ecks and House go and get food together but that night the insane clown goes off and kills them both.
Characters Involved Joker, House, Ecks, potentially more if anyone comes after the Joker. Joker himself may die soon after (day or two) from wounds inflicted by Ecks.
Joker won't make a public statement about it but he won't deny doing it if it comes up either.
Date/Length: Night 204.

Summary: The Joker will be murdering John Watson after everyone is returned to themselves after the event. Clint Barton will break into the middle of it to try to stop the Joker and ultimately pull Harley out of the situation to protect her. The Joker will be inflicting mortal wounds on Clint and he'll die permanently with Harley. (Flurry was wanting to drop him and this would be the way out.) The Joker will also scurry off, succumbing to his own mortal wounds inflicted by Clint.

The Joker and Harley will not be discussing anything about the murder, Clint will be permanently dead, and John's death loss will ensure that he doesn't remember what happened until he's back to normal several days further on, so it hopefully shouldn't impact things. Depending on when John revives, he'd be losing his memories for 3 IC days. So that would be Day 248 or Day 249, potentially, that John would regain his memories and confront the Joker privately. This would likely lead to something more public coming from the Joker.
Characters Involved The Joker, Harley, Clint Barton, John Watson
Date/Length: Day 245-248/249 (when John's memory returns and he shares what happens with some of his allies)

Summary: House is organizing a mass tablet destruction night. He's trying to elicit a response from the Admin or whatever other entity has taken control of the network. He's enlisting as many people as he can to destroy their tablets at lockdown on a specified day. If possible, he'll be encouraging people to collect and try to store the electronic chips within the tablets if the spiders don't come to clean them up.

Characters Involved House and anyone he can enlist. I'll put up an OOC post asking people to indicate which characters will be participating. I know that there will be at least Ecks, Castiel, and Joker, so far, along with House, himself.

Date/Length: It will only last one night, unless characters are unable to find new tablets in the morning. I'd like to do it sometime next week given that it's fresh in House's mind (July 1st/Night 254, for example), but happy to work around whatever schedule you guys have.

Summary: House and Sherlock did a bad experiment that resulted in Sherlock losing his body and also suffering a death price that basically turned him into Moriarty. This is, understandably, going to piss people off, and House will be happy to deflect ire from Sherlock by insinuating this was an experiment done at House's behest. That's just going to piss people off more. Mycroft will likely be putting a hit out on him and others may attempt to attack and hurt House for what he did.

Characters Involved House and anyone who participates.

Date/Length: Day 194 when the Obits go up. House will be semi-honest in what happened to Sherlock whenever someone comments asking what happened. This will kick-off any action aimed to hunt him down.

Summary: Before we go too far down the rabbit hole!

In this IC conversationBeckett and Will have hit upon a plan to try to engage the data ghosts of Norfinbury through a means that doesn't involve, blood, death, dismemberment. At least not as the initial means of making contact!

What they want to try to do is coordinate an effort across any and all characters who would be willing to participate, to try and open up a gateway of communication for the data ghosts to read them through the tablets. The IC build up to this coming from several different sources, but including things like Will's experience with the 'ghost' dog, Beckett with getting stabbed at the high school, Will with the teenage laughing at the high school, so on and so forth. Also IC factors involved, Watson explaining Sherlock's experiment to Hannibal, Sherlock's recent return network post and Watson's end to end post taking people to task for being reckless.

Since Beckett mentioned that no one had tried to talk to the data ghosts across the tablet, this seems like a low body count (we hope!) experiment to explore.

The plan, if approved, is for there to be an IC post requesting volunteers/input from other Norfinbury residents and also an OOC sign up post for players to jump on board. Then there will be an IC post where the plan is actually put into motion to see what sort of response they get!

Characters Involved Beckett and Will to kick off but then opened up to any and all characters/players who wish to participate.

Date/Length: We're pretty flexible on time. I know there is a game event scheduled for Day 314, if this would be better run before that event, I am available and can run it over the holidays no problem. If it would be better to wait till after the event, then we could do the initial IC information gathering and OOC sign up posts here at the end of December and run the actual experiment in January?

Summary: I'd like to have Tess lose her humanity as a future death price. This would cause her to stop placing value on mortal lives outside of their immediate usefulness to her. She will post to the network demanding blood sacrifices and promising her blessings to anyone who manages to restore her power by murdering people in her name, though I have no idea whether anyone will actually take her up on it. It's also possible she might flat-out murder someone herself if she has a good opportunity; if so she would widely publicize it.
Characters Involved Tess; anyone who decides to go with her terrible blood god plan and/or anyone who wants to stop her.
Date/Length: Sometime after the upcoming event (And the Pendulum). I would plan on keeping Tess's death price in effect for at least two IC days (six OOC days).

Summary: I would like Hannibal to lose his self-control as his death price. He is typically very careful to craft the circumstances in which he murders and eats people, but without his self-control he will likely at least attempt to kill and cannibalize anyone he crosses.

Date/Length: This would start when Hannibal revives, and go for two IC days.

Summary: The Joker, in his Batman-centered MN obsession, is playing vigilante. He is going to capture blood goddess Tess after her public request for people to kill each other, then kill her when she tries to kill him to get away. He will publicize this to the general network.
Characters Involved Tess and the Joker; anyone who wants to go after the Joker or help Tess after she revives AGAIN (Tess will be losing a large chunk of her memories as her next death price, and initially won't know what happened apart from what she hears about it on the network).
Date/Length: Tess will die on day 349 or 350. Repercussions for the Joker will go on for as long as any of the characters have interest in pursuing it.

Summary: Hannibal is going to try to hypnotize those who were involved in the events in the cells, particularly those who were marked with the red lines, to try to retrieve the memories of what happened during the lost time.

He is also likely to mess with people's heads. Just a smidge.

Characters Involved Hannibal and anyone who would like to be hypnotized; at the moment Enoch and possibly John Watson.

Date/Length: It depends on who would like to participate and how long it takes Hannibal to get to them all. If three attempts garner nothing, he will abandon the project as futile.

Summary: Stuff happened a while back.
With Junpei's memory returning, this is basically just a request for him to be allowed to tell others that Squalo had tortured and killed him.
(Due to his depression exposure effect, it is possible for him to keep holding the information back, instead, if needed.)

Characters Involved Junpei, Squalo, anyone who finds out? (Most immediately, Angel and Rhys will be nearby when Junpei's memories return, and if the hypnosis plot goes through, he may also end up admitting it to Hannibal as the reason he's interested. I'll check with individual players, though.)

Date/Length: It is a mystery. Junpei will have figured it out some time back on Day 360. Whether things blew up right there, or he only reveals it to close friends later, I'm not entirely sure yet. If Squalo faces any consequences, that's up to others to decide how long they'd want to be involved for.

Summary: Stephen wants to more or less repeat the seance organized by Will Graham (original event submission; ooc player discussion; ic planning; and final event post). Stephen and House noted in this thread that the houses are beginning to feel empty, and theorized that the remaining data ghosts are going quiet. Stephen and Flynn will also get around to the idea of a seance in this thread.

The idea is to once again link everyone up over the tablets so that the data ghosts can hear them all across town, allowing people who might have affinities with certain ghosts to connect with those ghosts even if the person in question isn't physically present in the appropriate building. I understand that this may not work the same way a second time, and that it may not work at all.

Characters Involved Stephen and Flynn will put a plan together, Stephen will host the seance, and all characters will be able to choose whether or not to assist with the seance.

Date/Length: The event would take place over one IC evening. I'm flexible on the date but would like to wait until Terri comes off her hiatus (7/22 or later) since she was one of the people who suggested this event. Since we're so close to endgame, though, I'm not sure if it would need to happen sooner than that.


Edit: I'm going to kill Stephen off for a couple of ooc weeks to give myself a chance to catch up on my backlog/recover from burnout. I'd like to schedule this for August for sure now.

Summary: The great anomaly round-up! Characters coordinate to leave messages and lure their anomalies to the power plant where they can be contained, potentially studied... and potentially also incinerated.
Characters Involved Currently it's just John and Sherlock planning this. We'd like to open this up to everyone else who might be looking for something for their characters to do.
Date/Length: This month? John and Sherlock's conversation was at the end of last month, and I know that we're very close to the end. It would take probably a week to get set up to lure all the anomalies (or some of them) and then find a way to effectively corral them within the power plant.
