Search Requests

While traveling through Norfinbury, you and your characters may want to search for more plot-relevant items. There are also squares on the map that no one has traveled to, and remain a mystery until explicitly uncovered. Thus, the search page has been created for this use. This page is not for reporting standard movements; if you need to do that, follow the directions on the character movements page. You can also find the square allowances on that page: remember, a quick search takes one square of movement, while a thorough search takes two! In order to have your character search an area, first find the comment of the location your character will be searching. There are general area comments at the beginning for uncovering new squares, searching outside of buildings, and talking to @ADMIN or other things not tied to a specific building. If your character is trying to speak to @ADMIN, simply use the header for the area your character is currently in. After those are building comments for searching inside of buildings. We will reply back within two days informing you what your characters found. Search requests will always receive some sort of reply, even if it's just "there isn't anything interesting here". We will also do our best to hint if there's something more your character can do, if this place has already been thoroughly searched, or if there's just nothing there at all. In order to submit a search request, please put the IC day you're doing your search in the subject line and fill out the following form: <b><u>Search Request</u></b> <b>Area Searched:</b> SQUARE - BUILDING - QUICKLY/THOROUGHLY <b>Anything Else?</b> This is where you describe how your character is searching, as well as if they're specifically looking for something/specifically doing something unusual. The more detailed this is, the easier it is for us to give you accurate results. MAKE SURE TO NOTE ANYONE TRAVELING WITH YOU.

House will be singing "Lavender's Blue" to try to get a rise out of any Prophet cultist spirits hanging around in this particular area. He'll also use the Eye App to check around while he's doing this.

Will will set his tablet up to record this and all other activities the men are doing in the building.

While House is singing and doing his Eye App thing, Will will be using his empathy abilities to try to reconstruct what happened based on the available evidence in the building. First how the wall came to be destroyed: Does it look like this was done with a particular tool? Is the damage recent? Can they tell how viciously someone went at the wall? House will have informed Will that there used to be words on the wall:

"TERRITORY", "KEEP OUT", and "E THE PROPHET"

He'll provide videos and pictures that he and Wilson took several months back of these words to show him how it used to look. Will will also attempt to reconstruct the original writing of these words in his mind and profile the writer. Were they tall, short, aggressive in their words or shaky from blood loss? Were there multiple writers? Did the writer bleed out while doing this? How old is the writing? Is there anything distinctive about it?

There is no apparent reaction to Lavender's Blue, and nothing reacts to the eye app. It's likely someone very recently removed the chunks from the walls, presumably to remove the graffiti. They may or may not still be here now.

As far as the graffiti, there were multiple writers, either of different sizes or with access to step stools to reach higher up. The writer did not bleed out while doing this. The writing is very old, though it's impossible to tell exactly. Still, it was obviously long before any of the current travelers arrived. The writing seems like a way to mark territory.
