Search Requests

While traveling through Norfinbury, you and your characters may want to search for more plot-relevant items. There are also squares on the map that no one has traveled to, and remain a mystery until explicitly uncovered. Thus, the search page has been created for this use. This page is not for reporting standard movements; if you need to do that, follow the directions on the character movements page. You can also find the square allowances on that page: remember, a quick search takes one square of movement, while a thorough search takes two! In order to have your character search an area, first find the comment of the location your character will be searching. There are general area comments at the beginning for uncovering new squares, searching outside of buildings, and talking to @ADMIN or other things not tied to a specific building. If your character is trying to speak to @ADMIN, simply use the header for the area your character is currently in. After those are building comments for searching inside of buildings. We will reply back within two days informing you what your characters found. Search requests will always receive some sort of reply, even if it's just "there isn't anything interesting here". We will also do our best to hint if there's something more your character can do, if this place has already been thoroughly searched, or if there's just nothing there at all. In order to submit a search request, please put the IC day you're doing your search in the subject line and fill out the following form: <b><u>Search Request</u></b> <b>Area Searched:</b> SQUARE - BUILDING - QUICKLY/THOROUGHLY <b>Anything Else?</b> This is where you describe how your character is searching, as well as if they're specifically looking for something/specifically doing something unusual. The more detailed this is, the easier it is for us to give you accurate results. MAKE SURE TO NOTE ANYONE TRAVELING WITH YOU.

Hey quick detail questions, what is the screaming like? How many voices and what kind of voice? Does it sound like screaming that has only just become audible or did it start when Beckett cut deep enough? Is it coming from inside the fleshmound or the fleshmound itself or just from some abstract location nobody can quite place?

It sounds like just one voice, difficult at this agonized pitch to tell any details about it aside from that it's probably human. It began screaming once Beckett cut deep enough, and is coming from an abstract location.

As this will probably happen regardless of the nature of the screams - Beckett is going to stop cutting, put on his work gloves, and very carefully probe the cut open to see what's in there. Just what had stopped his knife? IS IT TREASURE??

The flesh is too firm to separate and look properly, but he can probe around with his fingers like a gross house meat doctor and determine that it seems like there's only more flesh in there.

WELL THAT SURE IS GROSS can he try to carve a slice of fleshmound off to have a better look inside? Barring that, can he shove his fire poker in and try to break into whatever the hard part is?

He can't carve anything off the house meat, and the poker goes no farther than the knife went. The screaming is still happening.

This is a very silly thing but in case it ever comes up!

In the morning before the doors unlock and after the effects of the event are gone chaos is placing his palms against the fleshmound in a soothing gesture and, with complete lack irony, apologizing to it.

...Neither he nor I expect a response from the fleshmound but there it is!
