Search Requests

While traveling through Norfinbury, you and your characters may want to search for more plot-relevant items. There are also squares on the map that no one has traveled to, and remain a mystery until explicitly uncovered. Thus, the search page has been created for this use. This page is not for reporting standard movements; if you need to do that, follow the directions on the character movements page. You can also find the square allowances on that page: remember, a quick search takes one square of movement, while a thorough search takes two! In order to have your character search an area, first find the comment of the location your character will be searching. There are general area comments at the beginning for uncovering new squares, searching outside of buildings, and talking to @ADMIN or other things not tied to a specific building. If your character is trying to speak to @ADMIN, simply use the header for the area your character is currently in. After those are building comments for searching inside of buildings. We will reply back within two days informing you what your characters found. Search requests will always receive some sort of reply, even if it's just "there isn't anything interesting here". We will also do our best to hint if there's something more your character can do, if this place has already been thoroughly searched, or if there's just nothing there at all. In order to submit a search request, please put the IC day you're doing your search in the subject line and fill out the following form: <b><u>Search Request</u></b> <b>Area Searched:</b> SQUARE - BUILDING - QUICKLY/THOROUGHLY <b>Anything Else?</b> This is where you describe how your character is searching, as well as if they're specifically looking for something/specifically doing something unusual. The more detailed this is, the easier it is for us to give you accurate results. MAKE SURE TO NOTE ANYONE TRAVELING WITH YOU.

They don't need to be hauled out exactly, but they'll need to be gently guided out (or to a bed to sit down).

The SD card downloads a video to the tablet of whoever inserted it into their tablet.

The video that plays is completely silent and black and white. It breaks and pops with distortion occasionally. Several prophet cultists drag a girl--Samantha, also in a robe--into a room in the chapel filled with bunk beds. They put her on one of the beds and then leave as she rushes to chase them. It's quickly apparent they've locked her in.

The video ends. Would they like to add it to the public record?

The new key opens the frontmost door on the left. The air that spills out feels thick and humid. It's as pitch black as anything else, and the ocean eye app displays a distorted if empty room.

Do they go in?

Chaos and Zell will guide them out gently and get them settled.

They will add it to public record.

And Chaos will be heading in.

It's as if chaos has been plunged underwater. It's warm, but not pleasantly so--it's thick and cloying, like a rain forest. It feels like he's suffocating, or like water is beading up in his lungs. And maybe it's not water, it is too thick, it's like oil or like tar or like mud and it's coating him, condensing and dripping over all his organs and filling all the spaces between them, and he's left choking and clawing at his throat but there's nothing to be done, it's filling him up, it's pouring out his mouth, it's pouring out his nose, it's pouring out his eyes and his ears and it's filling up the room and

He's in a kitchen. All the appliances are gone, but there are cupboards and even a dining table and four chairs. It's not decorated at all. There's a key made of bone and a black SD card on the dining room table.

chaos will not be mentally able to enter another room in the chapel until it has been entered by someone else and made normal. Even aside from that, he will need some time to recover before he goes anywhere.

Those in the group who have not been in any rooms feel deeply unsettled. They can chance another room if they want, but it may be a better idea to leave and take a break. It's up to them, of course.

He's going to plug in the SD Card! And ganking the key. He also wants to check the cupboards for anything.

Would taking a quick breather outside help? How long of a break would they need?

The cupboards are empty. The SD card downloads a video to the tablet, which plays as follows:

[The video is silent and colorless, but it's clear that Samantha, clad in the robes of the prophet, is in a kitchen. She rifles through the cabinets and the refrigerator, pushing aside things that make her gag and that aren't food at all. She's determined enough that it makes you question when the last time she ate was, if she still has the stomach for eating.

She freezes as another robed figure uncurls itself unnaturally from the cupboard. They crawl liquidly along the ground until they hit the wall, then they begin crawling as quickly as they can around and around the edge of the room.

Samantha begins to cry.]

Would he like to add this to the public record?

It would take two IC days outside of the church.

And yes they will put it up on public record.

They will leave for a couple days and come back.

ADDITIONAL QUESTION SORRY: Would the unsettling feeling hit anyone else who comes to the church during the two days? Or just people in this group.
