Search Requests

While traveling through Norfinbury, you and your characters may want to search for more plot-relevant items. There are also squares on the map that no one has traveled to, and remain a mystery until explicitly uncovered. Thus, the search page has been created for this use. This page is not for reporting standard movements; if you need to do that, follow the directions on the character movements page. You can also find the square allowances on that page: remember, a quick search takes one square of movement, while a thorough search takes two! In order to have your character search an area, first find the comment of the location your character will be searching. There are general area comments at the beginning for uncovering new squares, searching outside of buildings, and talking to @ADMIN or other things not tied to a specific building. If your character is trying to speak to @ADMIN, simply use the header for the area your character is currently in. After those are building comments for searching inside of buildings. We will reply back within two days informing you what your characters found. Search requests will always receive some sort of reply, even if it's just "there isn't anything interesting here". We will also do our best to hint if there's something more your character can do, if this place has already been thoroughly searched, or if there's just nothing there at all. In order to submit a search request, please put the IC day you're doing your search in the subject line and fill out the following form: <b><u>Search Request</u></b> <b>Area Searched:</b> SQUARE - BUILDING - QUICKLY/THOROUGHLY <b>Anything Else?</b> This is where you describe how your character is searching, as well as if they're specifically looking for something/specifically doing something unusual. The more detailed this is, the easier it is for us to give you accurate results. MAKE SURE TO NOTE ANYONE TRAVELING WITH YOU.

[Ostensibly, this is video, but it's too grainy and distorted to make out anything. The audio works, however. Very young children are changing "long live the prophet" at a rapid pace. In the background, screaming and wailing and painful sounds. Over top of all that, someone is screaming.]

The final room (aside from the main chapel area itself) is the last room on the right. It smells of blood. Going inside, Ecks immediately begins to cough up the substance, unable to stand under the force of her body trying to expel the red fluid that's somehow gotten into her stomach. She can crawl, and if she does, she'll feel something like maggots squirming around. Were they inside her, or were they already on the ground? There's so many. They're crawling up her arms and up her legs and they want to get back in, but that's awful, that's awful, she vomits again, and something is telling her it can stop this, it can stop this if she listens, and

Ecks is in a sacristy. There are black and red prophet robes hanging up, more elaborately decorated than the ones they usually see, along with an assortment of ornamental weapons that their bodies refuse to take out of this room. Among the weapons is a black and red key and a black SD card.

They need to leave. They need to leave. They need to leave. They need to leave. THEY NEED TO LEAVE.

They'll add it to the public record. They'll also take the SD card to pop in and watch as they can.

... Well, this is troubling. Just HOW compelling is that leave compulsion? Because they were doing their search overnight given movement limitations. They can't physically reach another building. Would holing themselves up in one of the 'normal' rooms be an option at all? Even if it's psychologically traumatizing?

They'll leave immediately after lockdown in the morning, just overnight. They maybe didn't plan this so well.

They're blasted by the awful sensation for the duration they're in the building, but staying in one of the normal rooms is an option. They'll definitely want to leave as soon as possible.

OKAY! They stay the night so they don't die horribly in the snow. They'll leave the red key in a cupboard for Zell and co to find and book it out of the church in the morning.

EDIT: And they'll play the new SD card once they're away from the church.

It displays in perfect color how Samantha smashes the head of a cultist guarding her with a heavy candelabra (it can be found in the sacristy if they look, but it's been cleaned) and makes a run for the door. It displays in perfect, crystal clear color as Samantha slips out the door and into the darkness of a blizzard.

They are going to try the key that House's group left for them in the door back in the main room. Is it a success?

No. It would impact anyone who was in a group with people who opened the doors.

Hey guys! I'm sorry I'm late to all of this, work is running me ragged today. I know House and co ran out of time, but would Will's stalker have had any reactions in all of this? Drawn Will towards anything or pushed him away from anything?

Will's stalker refuses to enter the church. It will be waiting for him when he leaves.

Will he receive any sense from it in terms of the refusal to entry and also upon his return back out of the church? is his stalker judging his life choices?

Since we've had a few things occur over the event, Will would talk to his stalker when they leave the church/move towards their next destination.

He would hold this conversation as if he were holding it with another person, asking about why it was able to be in the pit room, but if it understood why it was separated from him when Miller grabbed him. He's not expecting it to "talk" but would ask if it could, send him an emotion/impression maybe? blink twice!.

He'd also ask what it was about the church that frightened it, when other areas with prophet marks had been okay?

Again, he'll make it clear he understands they can't talk/talk but he'd be on the look out for any charades/emotions/Pictonary?

It won't answer him, but it seems to watch him closely as he talks.

Coming back to this on Day 357, Ginger, England, and America will come into the church! While they're all looking around, Ginger being Ginger, she won't really be thinking about the consequences when she finds the key that's been left behind...she'll just go try it on the locked door! What's the worst that could happen?

When Ginger opens the door to the chapel, all the lights come on at once. As she was in pitch darkness before, the sudden burst of light is blinding, but as her vision comes back, the chapel is revealed.

It was probably beautiful once, and maybe it's beautiful now, if you like deep, dark wood and blood red accents. Tapestries of the prophet decorate the walls in between each stained glass window, and the center aisle is lined with a black carpet with intricate red patterning.

Andromeda's corpse is attached to the wall, hands and feet nailed in to hold her up in an obvious imitation of Christ. Her stomach has been cut open, metal and wires and cords and fluids left dangling and dripping like entrails.

Somewhere, a house grows empty and lonely.

Ginger, too, feels as if suddenly she has grown very cold. She blinks into the newfound light, staring ahead of her as if she's not sure what she's seeing is real. But she moves forward, and by the time she's close enough to reach Andromeda, she can't deny it anymore.

"Oh, sweetie, what did they do to you?"

She isn't sure, right away, what she should do--but she knows she can't leave Andromeda up there. Robot or not, she didn't deserve this. She still doesn't deserve this.

"Don't worry, I'll get you down."

But she isn't really sure how to get her down, and her hands are shaking so badly, so she calls back for help from one of her companions.

England approaches when Ginger calls for help, nursing a similarly cold feeling in his gut. It was so long ago now that he first encountered Andromeda; he would have never imagined then that something like this had happened to her.

He speaks to Andromeda's corpse as he looks it over, wondering how best to approach taking it down. "I'm sorry we've met again under such circumstances. I was hoping to say that it was good to see you."

But it's not--not like this.

He still hasn't healed enough to do the heavy lifting, but he'll help America and Ginger with direction as they start to take her down.

Unfortunately, even the strength of all three of them together isn't enough to pull out the knife blades that hold her there. They've been driven in so deeply they've buried themselves in the metal of the wall.

Noooo. Well, they'll have to come back to that, because leaving her seems miserable. For now, though, after a discussion, England and Ginger decide to search the body. Ginger isn't expected to, of course, because she's Ginger, but she steels herself! She's gonna help, darn it!

They're gonna root inside her body cavity, but like, respectfully, to see if they can find anything that could be used even if it isn't some kind of clue.

There's nothing inside except torn up metal and wires, some ripped or cut apart, some intact but dangling, unconnected. The fluid is very cold and feels sort of like oil.
