Search Requests

While traveling through Norfinbury, you and your characters may want to search for more plot-relevant items. There are also squares on the map that no one has traveled to, and remain a mystery until explicitly uncovered. Thus, the search page has been created for this use. This page is not for reporting standard movements; if you need to do that, follow the directions on the character movements page. You can also find the square allowances on that page: remember, a quick search takes one square of movement, while a thorough search takes two! In order to have your character search an area, first find the comment of the location your character will be searching. There are general area comments at the beginning for uncovering new squares, searching outside of buildings, and talking to @ADMIN or other things not tied to a specific building. If your character is trying to speak to @ADMIN, simply use the header for the area your character is currently in. After those are building comments for searching inside of buildings. We will reply back within two days informing you what your characters found. Search requests will always receive some sort of reply, even if it's just "there isn't anything interesting here". We will also do our best to hint if there's something more your character can do, if this place has already been thoroughly searched, or if there's just nothing there at all. In order to submit a search request, please put the IC day you're doing your search in the subject line and fill out the following form: <b><u>Search Request</u></b> <b>Area Searched:</b> SQUARE - BUILDING - QUICKLY/THOROUGHLY <b>Anything Else?</b> This is where you describe how your character is searching, as well as if they're specifically looking for something/specifically doing something unusual. The more detailed this is, the easier it is for us to give you accurate results. MAKE SURE TO NOTE ANYONE TRAVELING WITH YOU.

I do not know. I have been unable to ascertain this. I know several locations were attacked as well as this one, but communication was cut off before I was made aware of further details.

Was America at war with anyone? Or were you, I don't know, in a contentious relationship with Canada or something?

Relations with Canada were good. There were no active wars.

Right, okay. So even you don't know. How many times have you done this, Eve? How many cycles have you run through? It seems like a lot. Especially when the nanomachines haven't been maintained in so very long.

Eve, what would happen if Andromeda told you to shut the town down permanently? She's a government representative, right?

Who is responsible for setting your objectives? Who has authority over you, Eve?

The United States central government.

It's been 10,000 years. When was the last time you received any contact from them? Everyone is dead. There's no one left to adjust your objectives. But I doubt they wanted you to do this. Your quota used to be much higher, didn't it? Why is it only 100 now? That's not enough to sustain a town this size.

The quota can be adjusted based on space and resources available within Norfinbury.

I don't know what my credentials mean to you, but speaking as a licensed physician, it is my medical opinion that this town is capable of sustaining zero human beings for any extended period of time. Excess radiation combined with poor maintenance, generally hazardous conditions, and presence of anomalies will lead to a continuous population of zero.

Please adjust your quota according to these observations.
