Applications are closed permanently. Thank you to everyone who has applied over the years! Before applying for a character, make sure you've read the rules and FAQ. You should also refer to the application guide to see what we're looking for in our applications. You may apply for one character per application cycle and three characters total. Please put your character's name and canon in the subject line of your application comment. Applications must be posted directly to this post and cannot be links. We will screen your application if you request it of us after we review it. Application challenges are allowed, but someone who did not place a reserve challenge cannot challenge a reserved application. Once reservations expire, an application challenge can only be placed before we process the character application of the applicant you would like to challenge. In the event of us nearing our application cap and having more applications than slots, we will attempt to choose the most well-written applications. First-time applicants will be processed first, then applications for second characters, and finally applications for third characters. We may allow more applications to be submitted than we have slots for in the name of greater selection. We will clarify in our response if an application is not being allowed into the game because of the cap or because of issues with the application not meeting the standards of the game. Third day and I almost didn't make it in time! But I'm here now!
"Geez, if I don't do something I'm going to die..."
Rydia had waited too long and the doors locked her outside in the cold. Even thought she already 'died' more than once in that cold land it had never been a pleasant experience and... well, she had been trained by her kind (She'd always considered the eidolons 'her people') to survive no matters what and her natural stubborned was now forcing her to find a solution of sort.
"Think, Rydia, Think..."
Bards who visited Mist often told stories about people surviving in the snow and the cold despite the situation, they just had to dig a hole in the snow, make sure they had a small hole to let fresh hair in and keep the small chamber isolated from the rest. Theoretically the body heat and her breath'd warm the air in the closed space, if she remembered correctly positioning the hole above the entrance'd trap the warmth inside and with her blankets she could have a chance. But that place didn't follow normal rules and the sun was already setting, that combined with her lack of strenght didn't give her much hope.
Well, maybe she was about to die of exposure, her whole body was already shivering, but she could still try, at least to learn something that could be useful in future.
When her hands tried to dig in the frozen snow all she could feel was pain and a small curse escaped her already blue lips: Rydia always despised her physical weakness but having free access to magic always allowed her to deal with the isse easily. She had to carry stuff? She could call Titan. She needed a fire? A fire or Ifrit would be the perfect answer.
...
And, of course, she couldn't call her creatures, nor she had a body fit to survive in that place. Rydia had never felt so powerless. The woman could barely carry any weight and now she couldn't even pierce the frozen surface with her hands. And the temperature was falling. She insisted some other times, her hands barely managing to remove an handful of snow now and then, then the the shivers stopped.
"..."
Drowzy and tired she realized her body had no energies left. What a great failure for someone who was supposed to fight no matters what, right? She was supposed to be strong, independent, yet she couldn't even survive on her own in a place where magic didn't matter. Rydia's body fell in the snow without a rumor yet she still managed to emit a small chuckle while her consciousness was fading.
The first time she was terrified, dying wasn't an option, now it just turned part of a horrible routine for her.
Yes, she definitely had to try harder next time.

If there was something Rydia wasn't comfortable with it definitely was technology: She listened to long discussions about the Highwind only because she enjoyed Luca's company but otherwise it was a world she didn't intend to explore... unless she was forced to.
"If I will ever find a way home I won't definitely miss you.. you tablet-thingie."
As useful as it proved itself to light up dark corners most of it's functions were just... too difficult to understand for her and even accessing the main network was a costant battle.
"What are you anyway? I've seen similar things on the Lunar Whale and on the Creator's moon but you still make no sense for me."
Talking to herself had become an habit, Rydia wasn't really used to be completely by herself and even if no one could reply while she rested in the house she picked for the night... well, this wasn't going to stop her from chatting with random inanimate items around her. Trying to find more warmth curling on herself -it didn't really help too much- Rydia was now grumbling against the 'communicating-magic-thing'
"Back home we didn't need this kind of things. In the Feymarch you'd be considered useless! Either we call each other with magic or we just... communicate either with spells or shouting in the wooden city. It's not to large down there, if you want to find someone you just have to be loud enough."
Rydia paused for a long moment tapping her fingers on the screen, she never missed home so much before.
"Even in the human village I was born you'd be just a fancy lantern and nothing else. It's another small place, you know... It's the kind of places I prefere. Most of my friends live in royal palaces but I know that'd drive me crazy and big towns are just too complicated for my tastes. And yes, here it definitely feels too lonely when you wander all by yourself, I will never get used to this... silence, but I don't feel completely comfortable between humans as well. I know what you're going to say: But Rydia, you're an human too! Wrong. I am a Feymarchian... and even if the elders never wanted to explain me too much it looks like my kind is a bit different. I don't know if summoners are humans. But it doesn't really matter now, does it? I'm trapped here and maybe I will never see my land or the human world again..."
The woman paused again and rolled over her back, now staring at the wooden ceiling and listening to the noises of the house: everything felt so empty, so... wrong. Rydia sighed loudly before tossing her device on the side. She spent her whole life accompanied by friends or creatures and as much as she didn't fit too easily...
"You know what? I should probably start to look for a group or... something. Maybe I could actually help someone on the way and maybe find help? I should thik about it tomorrow. But, in the meanwhile... it's goodnight time now, isn't it?Well, see you tomorrow you... ominous thing."
Accessories:
- A Sage Ring: It was supposed to halve the mana needed for the cast of magic spells. Basically useless.
- A Mist Ring: A ring made for Rydia. Summoning Mist while wearing that ring would allow her to automatically cast on herself 'blink' too. With no summons in the setting she'd probably keep it only because it's a precious memento.
ACCEPTED
Only the living room remains intact in this house. It seems like it still receives water, though, because there are ice stalagmites on the floor that increase drip by drip nightly, when the ceiling begins to leak and drip.
