Application

Application

Applications are closed permanently. Thank you to everyone who has applied over the years!

Before applying for a character, make sure you've read the rules and FAQ. You should also refer to the application guide to see what we're looking for in our applications. You may apply for one character per application cycle and three characters total. Please put your character's name and canon in the subject line of your application comment. Applications must be posted directly to this post and cannot be links. We will screen your application if you request it of us after we review it.

Application challenges are allowed, but someone who did not place a reserve challenge cannot challenge a reserved application. Once reservations expire, an application challenge can only be placed before we process the character application of the applicant you would like to challenge.

In the event of us nearing our application cap and having more applications than slots, we will attempt to choose the most well-written applications. First-time applicants will be processed first, then applications for second characters, and finally applications for third characters. We may allow more applications to be submitted than we have slots for in the name of greater selection. We will clarify in our response if an application is not being allowed into the game because of the cap or because of issues with the application not meeting the standards of the game.

Suitability:

Along with all the skills meant for taking a life, Sephiroth has also been bred to adapt and survive. SOLDIER training has given him the skills to make it through most situations, regardless of environment or the nature of his task, as well as the experience to make it to the end of the day. Having been a big part of the Wutai War, and having seen Shinra to victory, Sephiroth also possess skills to navigate unfamiliar territory, something which will come in handy in Norfinbury.

He’s also good at handling stress, and has a good grasp on his own emotions meaning he won’t break down easily (if at all), even if things get rough. Sephiroth has, if anything, dealt with a lot of psychological pressure throughout his life, so anything that the town throws at him will be seen to calmly and coolly, and in stride.

On a final note, Sephiroth is anything but passive. One to always take charge, he’s not likely to sit around and wait for the next set of horrors to be thrown at him or anyone else, and would much rather risk life and limb to find the source of it all, and to put an end to it— no matter what that might require.

[ things are moving too slowly for sephiroth’s liking. while many had negative opinions on shinra (himself included) and how the company went about its business, soldier had been a well-oiled machine running smoothly to the beat of his drum. this is nothing like it -- akin to neither shinra nor soldier -- and getting the people here to listen half as well will be a chore, no doubt.

still, patience will be key... and that means he will, at least, try for a somewhat vaguely polite if not firm tone when writing up a request; ]

I ask that those who have resided in this town for longer than a few months come forth and share any and all information they have gathered on the nature of this place. Tell me what you have learned, seen, and done in the time between arriving here and now. I ask simply because it would be within the best interested of all those here unwillingly that we work as effectively as possible so that we may leave.

After all, merely surviving here is not enough.

Any information, regardless of whether or not key in the end, should be offered up.

[ too much is still in the unknown for him to feel comfortable with how things must have been progressing up until his own awakening not too long ago. and it’s because of that sephiroth feels compelled to take action. whatever the true nature of norfinbury is, he will figure it out. ]

PROSE/ACTION:

( sometime after settling into snowblind )

[ sephiroth doesn’t need beyond human reflexes to hear the squeak and crunch of snow giving away under footsteps. it’s the only warning he gets of someone approaching though, their pace fast as if running, muddled sounds growing louder and louder despite the howling wind. for a few hours now he’s been alone, heading north after a brief discussion with a small group of people, each choosing a separate direction to head towards in search of provisions. alternatively, it would have been wise to pair up, but unlike most of those he had spoken with, sephiroth found comfort in his own skills to not slow him down.

or get him lost.

a thud snaps his attention back to the approaching person, and whether they know he’s there, in the midsts of all the snow and hail which makes it hard to see beyond arm’s length, is unclear… but sephiroth plans on informing them of his presence without further hesitation. it’s a simple, quick movement; his hand snaps forward at the perfect time, finding cloth as he’d predicted, then he’s slamming whoever it is down into the powdered pile of snow, hard enough to knock the wind out of them. ]

Keep that up and you’ll end up as just another pile in the snow.

[ don’t worry, his voice loses the growl soon enough as green mako-laced eyes slide down to your face, widening a fraction later in recognition. the wind whistles louder, but even that isn’t enough to drown out the now firm tone which speaks up again after a moments consideration. ]

You were supposed to head south. [ he notes with an obvious note of displeasure. now he’ll have to babysit. his hand, still bundled in the front of your shirt, only tightens for a moment… as tempting as it might be, sephiroth doubts throwing you back the way you came would solve this quick or easy.

so eventually he’s forced to sigh as he withdraws to a more acceptable distance, arms crossing over his chest loosely even as his hair whips around him in a wild frenzy of silver. ]

…Though I must say I’m surprised you made it this far on your own.

[ that, and it doesn’t sound like you have been followed by anyone else. or anything else.

well done. now let’s hope you can keep up with him. ]

Congratulations, you’ve been accepted into [community profile] snowblindrpg! Your character’s tag will be sephiroth (final fantasy vii). Your character will wake up at six AM on day 052 in a building on square V11. The description for this building is as follows:

This A-frame house consists of one large empty room and a sealed door that seems like it should lead to a basement, although there's currently no way to open it up and see. A penis has been drawn on a corner of the wall in some sweet-smelling dried white substance, as well as "suck it". Below the words, "you first" is written in pen.

Please reply to this comment with the journal you will be using for the game. After that, join [community profile] snowblindrpg, [community profile] snowblindooc, and optionally [community profile] snowblindmemes with your character journal. After that, reply to the taken character list and player contact list and make a top level thread for your character on the search page. If you have not replied to these lists within three days you will be removed from the game and will have to apply again.
