Applications are closed permanently. Thank you to everyone who has applied over the years! Before applying for a character, make sure you've read the rules and FAQ. You should also refer to the application guide to see what we're looking for in our applications. You may apply for one character per application cycle and three characters total. Please put your character's name and canon in the subject line of your application comment. Applications must be posted directly to this post and cannot be links. We will screen your application if you request it of us after we review it. Application challenges are allowed, but someone who did not place a reserve challenge cannot challenge a reserved application. Once reservations expire, an application challenge can only be placed before we process the character application of the applicant you would like to challenge. In the event of us nearing our application cap and having more applications than slots, we will attempt to choose the most well-written applications. First-time applicants will be processed first, then applications for second characters, and finally applications for third characters. We may allow more applications to be submitted than we have slots for in the name of greater selection. We will clarify in our response if an application is not being allowed into the game because of the cap or because of issues with the application not meeting the standards of the game. Re: REVISIONS REQUEST
While Church did genuinely believe himself to be human during his time in Blood Gulch, it’s likely that at least on some level he was aware that things didn’t quite match up and there was something missing. This sense of frustration added quite a bit to his constant grouchiness.
As for the other missing pieces, they didn’t leave as much of an impact, but it can still be seen here and there. For example, while cordoning off his ambition and creativity into Sigma did not leave him incapable of expressing those feelings, they do seem significantly muted in comparison to other versions of him.
Additionally, the damage he’s suffered and the memories he’s missing make it basically impossible for Church to live up to his full potential. He used to be a supercomputer based on the personality and memories of an already brilliant man, but now he’s basically as incompetent as any of the Reds and Blues. Which is pretty damn incompetent. He’s still hardly stupid, just a far cry of what he used to be.
And that brings us to the final issue: how does Church cope with his terrible past? The short answer is that he doesn’t, he just represses furiously and pushes anything seriously upsetting out of his mind. The long answer is that he still doesn’t, but sometimes denial isn’t enough. When he was forced into a simulation very similar to the torture that originally broke him, going through endless scenarios of failure and despair, at one point he seemed suffer something like a psychotic break and decided to kill the people he’d previously tried to save. Though he’d recovered by the time the simulation ended, it’s likely he went through a number of similar outbursts that were not shown. If faced with enough pressure from another source, such as basically everything going on in Norfinbury, it’s likely that he’d have another breakdown. Depending on circumstances it might result in more violent outbursts or dissociation.
ACCEPTED
This house seems very ordinary--the first floor has a kitchen, bathroom with only a toilet and sink, living room, and dining room, while the second floor has a master bedroom, second bedroom that seems set up as a guest bedroom, and a second bathroom that includes a shower. Many porcelain dolls have been piled, as if abandoned, in a corner of the house downstairs--they're all facing the wall. "ALPHONSE ELRIC, STEPH BROWN, MAMI TOMOE, FREYA CRESCENT, EDWARD ELRIC, DAY THIRTY, TRAVELLING NORTH." has been carved into one of the walls.
