Applications are closed permanently. Thank you to everyone who has applied over the years! Before applying for a character, make sure you've read the rules and FAQ. You should also refer to the application guide to see what we're looking for in our applications. You may apply for one character per application cycle and three characters total. Please put your character's name and canon in the subject line of your application comment. Applications must be posted directly to this post and cannot be links. We will screen your application if you request it of us after we review it. Application challenges are allowed, but someone who did not place a reserve challenge cannot challenge a reserved application. Once reservations expire, an application challenge can only be placed before we process the character application of the applicant you would like to challenge. In the event of us nearing our application cap and having more applications than slots, we will attempt to choose the most well-written applications. First-time applicants will be processed first, then applications for second characters, and finally applications for third characters. We may allow more applications to be submitted than we have slots for in the name of greater selection. We will clarify in our response if an application is not being allowed into the game because of the cap or because of issues with the application not meeting the standards of the game. Tim Drake | DC Comics | reserved
Flavor Abilities: Regular boring breed of human, here.
Suitability: Through intense training routines Tim is at a peak human condition, capable of impressive acrobatics and gymnastics. He's been trained by some of the world's best in several different martial arts and survival skills. That's all apart from just being a natural detective and good student. He speaks several different languages, understands a few more, and he has firsthand know-how and experience with a wide range of weaponry and gadgets. He first stepped up to take on the role of Robin just because he thought it was the right thing to do, because it meant helping others-- so it's not a mentality that's going to be dropped just because the setting has changed. Tim isn't even a stranger to world-hopping or surviving natural disasters, and since Snowblind's a mixture of both, he's going to be much more focused on getting to the bottom of the why rather than the how. He'll take on the role of protector to whoever he judges is going to need it. His mission will be to gather all information available, of course- but he'll more than likely be greedy with it unless he finds great buddies or certain info is life-or-death necessary to disclose, for fear anybody else will spoil an as-of-yet unmade plan of escape or retaliation.
RP Samples: Uno, dos, tres, and a network sample:
[Have a Tim, because introducing himself as the guy named after a burger joint is probably going to piss somebody off. So the kid gives a one-handed wave and he's even got a small and polite smile- a little strained, sure, and those gloved hands are shaking a little, but at least his face isn't blue.] When I rehearsed this I thought maybe I could start by saying 'do you want to play a game' but that's just unnecessarily odd to throw out in a place like this. --so let me start again.
It's like the only thing more reliable than the curfew is that somebody is going to come on here and start posting some 'hi my name is and it's good to meet everybody' things. I mean I know there's been efforts of having us all join hands and sing Kumbaya by a fire but we all know that's not really going to, you know, work. Not that it wouldn't be nice, because then we could agree that using our hands for something more productive than singing would be our best bet to get out of here pronto. So I'm just here to throw my name into those already existing databases and to maybe distract myself for a second. Hi, my name's Gary. Glanz, not 'glands', that'd be weird. I'm am- or was- a student and I don't think I really have any particularly helpful skills here that are unique but if you need help with like, treating a small wound or building something- or finding something- I'm good at that. So there we go. [It's not like Red Robin needed an invitation to get involved.]
Does anybody here have faith in their buddy system? [Finally getting to the point- what, was that abrupt? Tim's rambling on, though his voice has gone a little deeper. Not the puberty-has-struck kind of deep, more like he was delivering a presentation to his high school class.] Like, enough that they'd be willing to part with their tablet? This is possibly temporarily, possibly not. I might be a little relieved if I don't hear a single 'yes' but I do need this little camera of theirs. Or if there's anybody who knows how to tinker with gadgets- [Which he'd oversee, thanks.] I'd really love your help with maybe creating a- well, that. A camera. Think gopro. Are there any dogs around here? A farm or something or if somebody's found reindeers and hasn't eaten them yet- I bet you can tell where this going.
Or we can build a new Tower of Babel, but that would take longer and I know we don't like being told to wait. Mostly because waiting is- not that pleasant with frostbite eminent. [There was a doubt lingering in his head- had he even made sense or had the echo of his little cabin just made him rush every other word so his plan was incomprehensible?] Uh.
We need to... kind of see what's outside of this city. Novel idea, tell me about it. But I don't want to ask for an expedition or anything, because that falls into the 'not going to work' category of things we can, collectively, try. But if we have eyes -a working camera- and, say, a dog sled-- or a rocket-powered sled if anybody's got the know-how, we can maybe get a little farther than we have before in terms of 'where the hell are we'.
ACCEPTED (WELCOME BACK), NOTE
From the outside, this building looks like a house--go inside, though, and you'll be met with the lobby of a funeral home and an unnaturally suffocating atmosphere. It's very quiet here; the lobby is large but carpeted and designed in such a way sound doesn't carry very far at all. There are a few sofas and chairs and a small working restroom with a toilet, sink, and a small mirror attached to the wall. Travel through the first employees only area to the north and you'll find a small office with a large wooden desk. Oddly, there doesn't seem to be any paperwork anywhere.
Travel through the large door in the lobby to the west and you'll find a similarly large viewing area. It's set up accordingly--there are rows of chairs and even a coffin, although anyone brave enough to check will find it empty. Continuing west, there's a hallway and another employees only door. Go through that door and, well, you'll be in a small morgue.
The morgue here is small but lined on the north, east, and west wall with doors. There are small windows you can open from the outside and view what's inside. Sometimes there are bodies in there, and sometimes they're people you know. There's no way to open these doors, even if they're empty. There's one door to the south that appears to be a loading room for a herse, but there's no herse to be found and the room is quite dark.
The atmosphere only grows more suffocating here the longer you stay; if you try to stay too long (longer than one OOC day), you'll be forced to leave. Similarly, at 7PM, you will be forced to leave and not allowed to take shelter here.

Thank you for your interest in our game!
NOTE: Even though Tim is starting where his body was, he won't be required to have memories of his time here previously (but he can have those memories if you want).
