Applications are closed permanently. Thank you to everyone who has applied over the years! Before applying for a character, make sure you've read the rules and FAQ. You should also refer to the application guide to see what we're looking for in our applications. You may apply for one character per application cycle and three characters total. Please put your character's name and canon in the subject line of your application comment. Applications must be posted directly to this post and cannot be links. We will screen your application if you request it of us after we review it. Application challenges are allowed, but someone who did not place a reserve challenge cannot challenge a reserved application. Once reservations expire, an application challenge can only be placed before we process the character application of the applicant you would like to challenge. In the event of us nearing our application cap and having more applications than slots, we will attempt to choose the most well-written applications. First-time applicants will be processed first, then applications for second characters, and finally applications for third characters. We may allow more applications to be submitted than we have slots for in the name of greater selection. We will clarify in our response if an application is not being allowed into the game because of the cap or because of issues with the application not meeting the standards of the game. Re: REVISION REQUEST

[action]
[ It's cold and quiet, and it feels so much like the border that he almost has to pinch himself. The terrain's different, though-- it's nowhere near as treacherous, and there's signs of civilization replacing the sight of shivering half-forests. There's no sound apart from the steady crunch of his hooves in the snow, but that doesn't stop him from straining to hear anything else. ]
[ Wight doesn't know what happened here, and he doesn't dare guess. While there's buildings intact, everything around him stands as a silent testament to...something, an unnamed force of destruction The empty houses seem to loom down at him as he passes, doorways all in a line like teeth-- he gets a bad feeling in the pit of his stomach from more than a few of them, and he picks up the pace, putting as much distance between himself and the entryways as he can. His instincts were there for a reason, and he knows better than to charge in alone. Still, he'll need to find shelter-- and warmth-- soon. He pulls his bag in closer to himself, trying to shield his plants from the cold; they're not going to make it out here, and he isn't about to let that happen if he can help it. His own body heat isn't going to do the job, not on its own. ]
[ He can't be completely alone here, right? Somebody else had to be out there. Maybe they'd already found a place to hole up, or would know where to go-- slowly, he comes to a stop, taking a moment to scan the area around him. Nothing seemed to be recently disturbed, but with all the snow falling, Wight doubted he'd have been able to pick it out easily.]
[ Well, one option, then. Not the best, sure, but he's at a bit of a loss, and he won't know until he tries. ]
Hey, is, uh-- Anybody out there? Just gimme a sign you're alive or something, will you?
[ He's loud, doing his best to make sure his voice carries as far as possible. The echo's dampened by the snow, and he can only hope he's being heard by someone and not something. It's a risky move, and fairly stupid; he's giving away his position, and he can't think of a better way to get ambushed. In an instant, Wight's head is buzzing with possibilities, and he clacks his jaws to release a little of the nervous tension building up. Silence and more silence-- he doesn't dare move for fear of missing a single thing. The seconds stretch on, feeling more like hours as they pass. ]
[ --and then there's a thud from nearby, within one of the houses behind him. ]
[ His heart jumps into his throat, and all those possibilities scatter as his head jerks up. Could it be a person? He wouldn't know until he checked, but there was always the chance somebody could've decided to go to ground here. Maybe they were hiding and had slipped up-- maybe they couldn't give him a better cue. What if they were stuck? He's sprinting before he can stop himself, whirling around with a flurry of snow to put himself on the right track. He'd just passed that house, and the idea that he almost completely missed somebody and left them to face this isolation on their own makes his chest ache more than the freezing air ever could. While he fumbles with the doorknob, he's glad to note that this wasn't one of the creepy-feeling houses; could've been way worse, then. ]
I heard you, I gotcha-- don't worry, I'm not gonna hurt you! Please don't kick me in the face when I get this door open though okay--
[ The doorknob turns with a little effort, and his claws gouge the wood around it as he slips. He's got it, though, it's open, everything will be fine-- ]
[ --the entire inside of the house is an absolute wreck, with half the roof open to the sky. There's no one here at all, and from the looks of things, that had been the case for quite some time. He wilts all at once, looking up at the hole in the ceiling; one of the planks exposed to the elements was freshly cleared of snow, with an uneven pile directly below it. He'd found the source of the sound, although it wasn't at all what he'd hoped. ]
[ With a dejected sigh, he steps back, gently closing the door. He couldn't afford to linger here long, and he didn't want to, either. ]
ACCEPTED
A one-story A-frame house, the walls here are often slanted to account for its triangular shape. There is a small lofted area that contains a bed, though of course the sheets and blankets are gone. Aside from that, there is a kitchen, living room, and bathroom. The loft ladder wobbles a bit, but it shouldn't break without interference.
